Mock up Cover, contnets and double page spread

This is my mock up version of my cover page i have aded colour to bits of it to see how my pallet will plan out, i have defianlty decided on a typography or this page and i have confiremd my colour pallet and the way in which it will be structured.

This is my mock up version of my contnets page, it is very unusal in the way that the text is presented on the page over the picture, i like this style however, after feedback i have decided that i may go a diffrent way.

This is my double page spread the artcle which i will use is on another post, i like the model picture i have created as it looks very OG which is what my magazine is all about.

Test Shots

This shot was taken as it is off task and sudden, it portrays my model ina  real life situation which is an issue that my magazine focuses on, i also like the stance he is in and the postioning of objects around him.

I like this shot as it matchs previous conventions and has been directly taken as a midshot, the models pose is very masculine and looks to the point. I also like the clothing thta the model is wearing, and the way in which he has potrayed an affermative look.

This shot is one of my favourites as the lighting is used well and would match my magazines genre, i also like the clothing that the model is wearing and the postioning of his head in the midshot.

Video that represents my magazine

This video represents the best to old school rap, featuring some of the best, i stumbled across this and then began thinking of ways in which i can incorporate it into my magazine, i have decided that costume and clothing in this video could be used on model, and i could also look at the lyrics for inspiration as to what to write in my article.

My final colour pallet

I have carefull selcted colours that i think would be succesful, i have evaluted numerous diffrent magaxines colur scemes and came to the conclusin that i will use the colours

Black
Orange
Yellow
I will use these colours as they contrast well and they are not majorly featured on any otheer magazine, also i beleve that the colours resmeble th OG persona i am aiming for.

Colour pallet ideas

Black on white is still the easiest way to present type and to read it and you change that colour at your peril. Using coloured paper, coloured type or a heavy type patch often reduces legibility. In tests carried out by Karl Borgrgrafe (cited in Favre and November 1979) to see which colours worked best together, the following taxonomy of colour mixes was discovered, starting with the most legible, and working through to the least legible.

Black on yellow
Yellow on black
Green on white
Red on white
Black on white
White on blue
Blue on yellow
Blue on white
White on black
Green on yellow
Black on orange

As you can see, black and white comes pretty near the top although the list suggests that a yellow panel behind the black type would improve legibility (which is why important warning signs of danger are usually printed black on yellow.)

Note: though black on yellow may be more striking than black on white, it is unlikely to be more pleasing in large quantities. Magazine designers have to strike a balance between legibility, impact, and reader satisfaction.
Between getting attention, and not being annoying.   CE
